Sunday we had our coached team practice, and we had the best turnout of the winter so far, something like 15 or 16 skaters. I had taken three days off and done nothing but my stretching for my back. The jury is still out on whether this is helping or not. I have another appointment [...]

I Get Custom Molded Part II - The Skates Arrive!
December 26th, 2007 · 2 Comments · Skating Equipment, Speed Skates
As I wrote in the first part of this series, I got molded for custom Hyper Sincro boots a little over a month ago. I have been impatiently waiting for the boots to arrive since I have been skating on borrowed skates that don’t fit me.
The boots finally arrived on December 20th - and of course I couldn’t use them because we were going to the Nutcracker that night. Good thing I paid for overnight shipping! I will actually skate on them for the first time this Thursday, and I cannot wait to try them out.

I Get Custom Molded for My Hyper Sincros
November 19th, 2007 · No Comments · Skating Equipment, Speed Skates
This weekend I traveled down to Springfield, IL to finally get molded for my custom Hyper Sincro boots. With all the skate troubles I have been having, it couldn’t have come sooner.
The man of action for this duty is none other than Jim Larson, the only man you want molding you for the Hypers. Jim is a great guy, a great skater, and really knows what he is doing.
I had prepared my feet with a bit of shaving, just in case.

Note the former patch of Hobbit hair that had been shaved clean!
